Updates

Hello All,
I want to thank those of you that are keeping the families I mentioned in a previous post in your prayers. The funeral last Saturday for the baby was the hardest funeral I have ever been to.
On another note, Grant got Officer of the Year for the 4th precinct for the 2nd year in a row and also got the Officer of the Month for 2 months for 2006. If we get lucky, we are hoping they will pay for us to go to the National Police Week in D.C. again. The kids are still very busy with Tae Kwon Do and gymnastics and swimming will start again soon.
I have been doing well, although this week I came down with a virus and spent 2 days with no voice and a terrible cough, not fun at all, especially when I had a PTA meeting to speak at last night.
Hope all is well with everyone!

Thoughts

Hello Everyone,
I write this post feeling sad for the families that I am going to write about. Grant has found out over the last few days that some people that he works with have had some terrible things happen or are going down a tough road. Greg Knoll found out on Christmas Eve that he has stomach and esophageal cancer, with treatment he may be able to overcome this.
On New Year's Eve Dave Holm and his wife Melinda were traveling home and due to the snow and ice, Melinda lost control of the van and it ended up starting on fire, Dave tried very hard to save his wife but was unable to. Dave is currently at HCMC in the burn unit and is getting better after having some skin graft surgery yesterday.
Jomar Villamor and his wife Seerena were expecting a baby and Seerena was admitted yesterday due to complications with the pregnancy, Caden was born via emergency c-section and had to be resuscitated. He was transported to Children's hospital where he was placed on life support in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. Early this morning Caden passed away peacefully in the arms of his family.
Please keep all of these families in your thoughts and prayers and be thankful for your family. All of this has made Grant and I really reflect on how important life is and to live every moment to the fullest. Take the time to hug and kiss your children and loved ones. Life can change in an instant, don't let the precious moments pass you by....
